Peel Police have arrested three males in relation to an incident of assault involving weapons that occurred in Brampton.
Peel Regional Police say they were called to the commercial plaza at Steeles Avenue West and McLaughlin Road at approximately 10:30 p.m., December 10, 2017 for a report of a fight between two large groups of men in the park lot.
Videos of the incident shared on social media showed a number of men hitting each other with large sticks.
When police arrived, most of those involved had dispersed but they found a 19 year-old male victim suffered minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital.
On Friday December 15, 2017, the following three male were arrested and charged with one count of Assault Cause Bodily Harm-
Gurpreet SINGH, a 20 year-old male from the City of Brampton,
Karanbir SINGH, a 22 year-old male from Brampton; and
Harbir SINGH, a 22 year-old male from Brampton
Each is expected to appear in court in Brampton on Jan. 17, 2018.
“This incident had caused a great deal of concern and attention in the community. Peel Regional Police want to ensure the public that these types of incidents will be investigated thoroughly as public safety is our top priority”, said Inspector Raj Biring, Officer in Charge of the 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau.
