On Sunday August 20, 2017, Matthew WIGHT, a 28 year-old male from Brampton, was operating a motor vehicle in the area of Centre Street and Williams Parkway in the City of Brampton. Unexpectedly, the accused stopped his motor vehicle in front of a driveway of a residence. While unprovoked, the accused uttered racial slurs and attacked the victim who was standing in the driveway.
The victim, a 31 year-old male resident of Brampton, was transported to a local hospital and was treated for serious facial injuries sustained from the assault.
Matthew WIGHT was subsequently charged with one count of Assault Cause bodily Harm and one count of Breach of Recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. Wight was scheduled to appear in a Brampton courtroom on Monday.
